My Background
Jacquelyn (Jackie) Posek, LCPC, M.Div., has worked as a mental health therapist since 2018 in a variety of settings, including private practice, partial hospitalization/intensive outpatient, and inpatient providers. She works with adolescents, emerging adults, and adults. Jackie received her M.Ed. in clinical mental health counseling from DePaul University, and her Masters of Divinity degree from University of Chicago. Prior to working as a therapist, Jackie worked for more than a dozen years in pastoral care and campus ministry at universities in the Chicago area.
Jackie’s specialties and interests include working with patients who struggle with feelings of depression, anxiety, grief, low self-esteem, and difficult transitions. Jackie believes that therapy is an act of collaboration between client and therapist, in which clients are empowered to create meaning and purpose through greater knowledge of themselves and their personal values. She works closely with every client to help them discover their own worth and embrace their unique identity, talents, and beliefs. She is well-versed in behavioral and mindfulness interventions that serve to increase clients’ capability to regulate challenging emotions and tolerate distress while committing to values-informed, intentional action in their day-to-day lives. Jackie is also deeply interested in the spiritual and existential aspects of client’s identities. She sees therapy as a journey of self-discovery for the client, and identifies her primary role as therapist as one of creative and compassionate accompaniment with the client.
Outside of work, you can find Jackie working in her garden in the spring and summer, cheering on the Philadelphia Eagles during football season, or cooking what she hopes will turn out to be a delicious meal at pretty much any time of year. She loves reading, especially at the beach, and is always on the lookout for addictive podcasts and British period dramas.
