My Background

My name is Grace Lanzotti, and I am a licensed professional counselor. I have always loved learning about emotions and behavior and forming connections with others. I discovered my passion for the mental health field while earning my bachelor’s in psychology and communication from the University of Cincinnati. After earning my bachelor’s degree, I began pursuing my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling also at the University of Cincinnati. My clinical training involved working with children and adolescents living with trauma and experiencing poverty. This experience encouraged me to prioritize meaningful connection in counseling and strengthened my awareness of barriers to mental health care.

While my previous work involved working mainly with children and adolescents, I also love working with adults of all ages. My experience counseling young people has allowed me to facilitate healing at all stages of life and help connect adults to their inner child. I specialize in working with people with anxiety, trauma, self-esteem issues, difficulty with life transitions, creating and communicating boundaries, and those with interpersonal and socioemotional communication challenges.

My main focus during counseling sessions is developing a strong rapport with clients. I like to accomplish this with a collaborative and non-judgemental approach, and especially with humor! Trust is fundamental within the counseling relationship, so I always approach counseling with kindness and an open mind. I mainly utilize a person-centered approach and incorporate strengths-based, CBT, and solution-focused techniques through a trauma informed lens. My approach is always tailored to the client, as one size never fits all in counseling. My goal is to help clients develop insight and skills to utilize on their journey to healing. I stay connected with my playful demeanor both inside and outside of counseling

I like to stay connected with my playful side both inside and outside of counseling. Outside of work, I love to cook and bake, explore restaurants, travel, read, watch movies, and ski during the winter!
