My Background
Throughout my life, I’ve found myself naturally drawn to understanding both my own inner experiences and those of others—always with a sense of curiosity and a desire to truly see people for who they are. That same curiosity, along with compassion and collaboration, continues to guide my work as a therapist today.
I earned my Master’s in Counseling from Columbia College Chicago with a dual certificate in Dance/Movement Therapy. My training emphasized healing the WHOLE self—mind, body, and spirit. Dance/Movement Therapy (DMT) is part of a larger family of somatic therapies, all of which recognize that our bodies hold emotional experiences—not just our minds. What makes DMT unique is its use of expressive movement to explore and shift patterns that may be tied to trauma, stress, or emotional blocks. While other somatic approaches may focus on body awareness or nervous system regulation, DMT adds a creative, relational layer by inviting clients to move, reflect, and connect in ways that words alone can’t always reach. It’s a gentle yet powerful way to support your healing alongside verbal processing.
I also utilize DBT, CBT, ACT, and Internal Family Systems informed therapies to work with those experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma-related symptoms, OCD, and eating disorders. I’m especially passionate about empowering clients to make choices that honor their personal values and lead to a life they genuinely love. I bring extensive experience supporting clients across all levels of eating disorder care—including residential, PHP and IOP—and bring that depth of understanding into my outpatient work.
My approach is trauma-informed, rooted in cultural humility, and LGBTQ+ affirming. I strive to create a space where all identities are welcomed, respected, and celebrated. I know I’ll never fully understand what a day in someone else’s shoes is like, but I work to ensure my clients feel held, heard, seen, understood, and equipped to meet their goals. My therapy room is also a space for humor, memes that explain exactly how you’re feeling, and laughing at the absurdities that come with being a person.
When I’m not working, I love to cuddle with my cats, Callie and Koa, sew/quilt, read celebrity memoirs and practice yoga – especially when the sun is shining through the windows just right.
