Take A Unique Approach

Art therapy can take form in a variety of mediums to helpt treat a variety of mental illness situations. These mediums include drawing, painting, coloring or sculpting, to name a few and these approaches can be used to treat issues such as depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder and even some phobias.

“The process isn’t an art lesson – it is grounded in the knowledge of human development, psychological theories, and counseling techniques.” – Art Therapies Credentials Board

Techniques used in art therapy can include:

Art Therapy

Combined with talk therapy, it can help people deal with strong emotions, increase self-awareness and self-worth and decrease stress and anxiety. This is because art therapy demands you to go deeper, expressing your inner states outwardly without using words. This can be challenging. But therapy that isn’t challenging, isn’t therapy.
