My Background

Jessie is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Jessie has always been passionate about mental health and health equity. Jessie completed her Bachelor’s in Sociology with a minor in Public Health at Boston University. After working for a pregnancy and fertility research study, Jessie pursued her Master’s in Social Work at the University of Chicago. Throughout her social work career, Jessie has worked as an inpatient hospital social worker on many units, including the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), the antepartum/high-risk pregnancy unit, and the adult cardiac ICU. During this time Jessie also obtained her Perinatal Mental Health Certification (PMH-C), which represents her specialization in working with birthing persons, partners, and families throughout their reproductive health journey, from family planning through the postpartum period.

Jessie seeks to create a warm, safe, and non-judgmental space for clients. Jessie has a passion for working with clients experiencing life transitions and stressors, navigating changing identities, and exploring familial and relational dynamics. Jessie has extensive experience working with clients navigating high risk pregnancies, perinatal loss, fertility challenges, adjustment to parenthood, and postpartum mood and anxiety disorders. In addition to the perinatal population, Jessie also has interest and experience in emerging adulthood, work/life balance, burnout, and clients struggling with anxiety and depression.

Jessie strongly values the client-therapist relationship and views the client as the expert in their life. Jessie takes a collaborative, strengths-based approach to therapy. Jessie draws from a range of evidence-based modalities, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Attachment-Based Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Harm Reduction. Jessie utilizes a Trauma-Informed and Person-in-Environment approach. Jessie values the connection between the body and mind and incorporates somatic-informed techniques. If you are looking for a therapist who will partner with you to develop coping skills, gain further self-insight, and utilize humor along the way, Jessie is the right clinician for you.

Outside of the office, you can find Jessie enjoying long walks on the lakefront, reading romance and fantasy novels, doing yoga, and trying her hand at different crafts like pottery and knitting. Jessie is always looking for her next travel destination and has a passion for learning new things and seeing new places.
