My Background

Malory is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. She obtained her Masters of Arts in Counseling from Adler University, with a specialization in Forensic Psychology. It was during this training that Malory concurrently received her Certificate in Substance Abuse Counseling. Throughout her career, Malory has worked in residential and inpatient facilities, partial-hospitalization programs, intensive outpatient, and private practice settings. During her time working in higher levels of care, she helped create and implement trauma-informed specialty services for those struggling with a myriad of traumatic and stressful life experiences. In addition to individual therapy, Malory has experience as a family therapist. She specializes in trauma and complex trauma presentations, anxiety, depression, substance use, mood disorders, and relational/familial conflict.

Malory’s therapeutic approach incorporates person-centered, strengths-based practices that highlight the collaborative partnership in therapy. She firmly believes that people have the answers within themselves, but it often takes the therapeutic alliance to help work through problems and guide the person to resolutions and self-actualization. Therapeutic interventions are tailored to the unique needs of each individual, however, Malory practices from a trauma-informed, holistic framework. Malory integrates principles of attachment, neurobiology, present-centered awareness, somatic experiencing, and trauma-focused treatment modalities to increase her clients understanding of the self. Combining psychotherapy with coping skills is important to Malory, thus, she will often draw from Cognitive-Behavioral (CBT), Dialectical-Behavior (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) techniques for coping skill acquisition and implementation.

Malory sees her responsibility as a clinician to equip people with the tools for personal growth and fulfillment. To effectively do so means to discover what the person has within themselves, and help them see and embrace it. If you are looking for a therapist who can provide tangible coping skills, help you look inward for deeper understanding, and don’t mind bits of humor along the way, Malory is the ideal clinician for you.

Outside of the office you can find Malory on daily walks with her pooch Jackson either jamming out to curated playlists or deep-in-thought listening to a podcast. Malory finds that movement is medicine, and particularly enjoys yoga, swimming, and biking. When not outdoors, you can find her snuggled up with her cat Sullivan enjoying a good book.
